Tanha se the hum mausam bhi the kuch udaas. Yaado ke gehre the bhanwar par thame se the ehsaas.   Dhadakta tha dil, par ravaani na thi Kisi ko sunaaye, aisi kahaani na thi. Ghutan si thi saanso mei jaise, Aur khushiya bhi lagne lagi bemaani thi.   Raat ke andhere jab gahraaye tum chanda ban kar aaye. Khushiyo ne pankh failaaye Chhatne lage gum ke saaye.   Aankho ki nami bhi sukoon deti hai ab Dhadkano mei pyar ka sangeet hai ab Gulzar hai dil ka har kauna, Saanso mei preet ki khushboo hai ab.   Aarzoo hai dil ki yahi VINi har jeevan ka saathi ho wahi. Chap 11 The Shopping Trip ….

Bunny’s call had left behind a question, that too a disturbing one , in Ghazal’s mind and she had a disturbed sleep that night. Her thoughts going down the memory lane, past events moving like a movie reel. Past few weeks had been the happiest, in spite of Vrinda’s illness, a fact she could not deny. Her loneliness had , as if flown out of the window, yet it was too early to conclude that She and Arun had a future together, even for their daughter’s sake. But Mihir’s call and whatever he had said , had started another train of thoughts in her mind.            Next morning, while getting ready for school, Vrinda looked in a cheerful mood, smiling a lot more, even finishing her breakfast without a fuss. Ghazal was too busy to give a thought, yet she couldn’t help but notice. Her day in school was hectic as usual, she picked up her bundle of copies and placing it in the cupboard, rushed out. She was already late by 10 minutes, and hated to keep the little kids waiting in the school bus.

Chap 10 Bunny Called

Image
Two days later, after dinner when Ghazal was winding up her school work, her cell rang. A smile lit up her face, when she saw Mihir’s number flashing on screen. She quickly switched on.   “ Hi Bunny !!!!!!!!!! what a pleasant surprise ! Aren’t you at office ?”, She replied. “ Yes chatterbox I am at office, but it was important. First tell me how’s my little doll Vrinda doing? Hope she is fit n fine now.”, Mihir said. “ oh yes she is fine, sleeping peacefully. You say what is so important that you called during your working hours. Hope everything is fine at your end.”, She sounded a bit worried. “ Yes doll ! everything’s fine here, don’t you worry. It’s just that Arun called me today, about an hour ago. I was a bit taken back, hearing his voice after such a long time. Just a few words, friendly and formal. What’s going on doll? I’m confused as to what can be the reason for his calling and then sounding so friendly yet saying nothing important. Is there anything ,I don’t know? You t

Chap 9 Hidden Feelings

Time’s clock seemed to be running very fast and Vrinda was regaining her lost strength, owing to her parents’ love and care. Unknowingly, Ghazal and Arun were spending more and more time together, not only when Vrinda was with them, but also when she fell asleep. They had fallen into a silent companionship, feeling more comfortable with each other than they had ever felt earlier. Both of them even shared their daily happenings, related to work as well as about Vrinda.               After her final tests, Doctor had given green signal for Vrinda to resume her studies. The day she resumed her school, Arun decided to shift to his own house. Ghazal sensed a sudden quiet as well as sadness in the atmosphere. Not only Vrinda, even she had grown accustomed to his living with them. With his departure, the house looked so desolate and Vrinda was far from her cheerful self.             Strange it was, yet also true, Ghazal missed Arun’s presence. She did not miss the wetness in his eyes, when

Chap 8 Is this A New Beginning ?

With Arun shifting in her house, Ghazal was very conscious, as her house was relatively small and without most of the luxuries, Arun had always lived with. But Arun’s relaxed behavior surprised her again. He seemed happy just being with them. As she resumed her school duties, he even helped her with household chores and looked after Vrinda, spending time with her, serving her food as well as her medicines. She couldn’t help but notice that he had really changed a lot. From that seemingly uncaring and indifferent attitude, this all caring and supporting behavior was a welcome change.              Next two weeks were the happiest for three of them, both Ghazal and Arun taking turns to spend time with Vrinda during the daytime, but it was evening time which three of them enjoyed. After Dinner everyday, they either watched a cartoon programme or played ludo , chess or any other indoor game. As Vrinda recovered and gained a little strength, they even went for a drive and spent sometime at

Chap 7 Arun’s re-entry

Image
Vrinda looked a lot more cheerful that day, in spite of her weakness, took her herbal medicine readily (forgetting the bitter taste). After giving her some boiled vegetable soup, she prepared lunch, all the while thinking about Arun’s role and importance in their daughter’s life. She had taken leave from school for a week, but with the exams approaching soon, she won’t be able to extend it much longer. She decided to discuss the matter with Arun, when he came for lunch that day.            Arun too, looked much more relaxed , when he came for lunch. They sat down together on the small round make-shift dining table, eating their lunch in silence. After lunch, she served ice-cream in two bowls, checking Vrinda who was sleeping peacefully, she took them to the couch and sat down besides Arun. Handing him one bowl, she told him about her dilemma . Arun’s response surprised her…. He offered to look after Vrinda, while she was away at her school. Seeing her hesitation, he convinced her tha

Chap 6 Tender feelings…

Next morning , when Ghazal woke up, she was surprised to see a sweet smile lingering on her little angel’s face. She had her arms around Arun’s thighs, who had fallen asleep, in the sitting position. Ghazal silently got down from the bed, so as not to disturb both father and daughter. She quickly prepared breakfast and tea, taking out rasgullas from the refrigerator for Vrinda. She took the tray to the bedroom, and as she opened the door, a hoop of laughter came floating. Arun and Vrinda were having gala time playing with pillows, hitting each other and laughing. Seeing her enter the room, they sobered but she didn’t miss that beautiful shine in her angel’s eyes.           They all had breakfast together after a long time. When Ghazal looked at Arun ,who was looking at Vrinda, she could see a sadness creeping into his eyes. She felt a tenderness seeping into her heart, surprisingly for the person who was responsible for her unhappiness. After breakfast, Arun left, but leaving Ghazal

Chap- 5 Destiny Plays…

Certain things are best left on time, as time as it passes heals many wounds, which may seem incurable. Some relations, though appear to be strained or broken, have some invisible ties. Days passed with things improving in Samar’s family, but there was this thought still nagging in a corner of Ghazal’s mind.                    Every now and then, Arun had indirectly tried to reach her, his eyes seemed requesting her to give their relationship another chance. She had no doubt in her mind that he loved his daughter very much. But was that enough reason for them to come together again?                    It was as if Destiny was about to take another turn. One morning, Vrinda woke up with high fever. She took her to a physician, who after a number of tests, diagnosed her with severe jaundice. Her little girl was restricted to bed and she to her side. Arun came as soon as he came to know, doing whatever he could. He spent a quality time with Vrinda, only leaving her side at night, when

Chap 4-Will Things Improve ?

Next morning, Ghazal woke up with the alarm buzzing. She had a severe headache, due to the restless sleep last night. She didn’t feel like going to school that day. Taking a leave herself, she saw Vrinda off at the bus and returned home. She messaged Samar to call her as soon as he can.               Samar was not his normal self when he called, his voice sounded disturbed. “ Ghazal, I don’t want to live here. I want to be with you.” Ghazal was moved to hear her sweet friend. She had to be strong for him. “ You are always welcome Samar, but your parents especially your mom needs you. Just be calm and cool, let them solve their issues themselves. They have been together for so long, just give them some time. You just try and concentrate on your studies. I’m always there with you.” “No Kuchi, nothing can improve now. I don’t feel like going home.” “Where are you now? Don’t say like that Chiku.” “I’m sitting in a park. I didn’t go for my classes.” “Listen Chiku, please don’t let y

Chap 3 : Samar’s plight

Image
Ghazal’s heart was beating so fast, but she took a deep breath and told Samar to calm down. When he had stopped crying, she asked what was wrong. What Samar told her, was just as shocking as to hear him cry, for he was otherwise a very cool n jolly natured person.          “ Kuchi , mummy-papa are getting separated. Mom left home, I’ve been looking for her since last two hours but can’t find her. I don’t know what to do. I just want to die ” “sssshhh…. Chiku please stop crying first ..just calm down and think of places or persons, your mom can go to. Have you called at home? May be she has returned home. Where’s your Papa, is he with you ?” “ ok I’ll call at home, then i’ll call you back .” “yes… do that . I’ll be waiting . Don’t worry, I’m with you.” Samar’s call came after exactly 5 minutes. She quickly took the call and was relieved to hear that she was right to guess that his mom had returned home. She told him to go back home and stay calm, just leave the things, as they are.

Chapter 2- Kuchi ! I want to DIE…

Image
It had been raining since morning, pleasant cool day with cool breeze. Ghazal loved rains, and everything attached to rains, be it the cool romantic weather, pleasant and sweet fragrance of wet mud, the clean and green plants, smoky looking hills and milky white clouds floating in the sky……               She and Vrinda got drenched in spite of their umbrellas, but both of them didn’t mind as Vrinda too loved rains. Quickly changing into dry clothes, she made hot coffee for herself and milk for Vrinda, and they both had their drinks, sitting near the window, gazing at the drizzle outside. Vrinda was her cheerful self, sharing all her day’s happenings with her mother, as was her daily ritual. Hearing a beep sound from her cell, Ghazal looked at her cell phone to find a message from Samar, her sweet fb friend, who was now her best friend too. It was their everyday routine to share even their smallest events of the day, as if their day felt incomplete without telling each other. Samar wa

Chap 1 A New Journey OR Another turn ?

Chapter 1 Part 2nd GHAZAL’s STORY In the journey of LIFE, we meet several fellow travellers. Need not say, some are just passers by, others may walk with us for a little distance. There are some who leave their marks on our mind and sometimes an impression on our life as well as our way of living. Then there are those few, who touch the very core of our heart and thereby leave a permanent imprint on our life, which may fade a little, with the passage of time, yet is never erased completely.                       Ghazal’s JOURNEY was no different. So many people had touched her life, each playing a different role: sometimes as mentors, sometimes as friends, sometimes guardians. Vaibhav was one person who had been a little of all, but most importantly, he had introduced her to LOVE, a selfless and undemanding emotion, yet also very fulfilling and inspiring. He was no more with her, yet never left her completely. He was that part of her life, which breathed with her very existence.
