Ye kaisi dukaan hai?

Image
Ye kaisi dukaan hai? Yaha bikta har saamaan hai. Bikti hai masumiyat aur bebasi Achchai ki aad mei, Bachpan bikta kaudi-kaudi, Ameero ke bazaar mei. Betiyo ka sauda karte Ye kaise haiwaan hai? Sunheri sikko ki  khanak mei, Bikta yaha imaan hai. Ye kaisi dukaan hai? Ye kaisa paath padha rahe Shiksha ke bazaar mei? Bik rahi khud Lakshmi Saraswati ki aad mei. Dard aur aansuo ki keemat par Har din bikti hai roti, Zindagi ki har pal yaha Til-til maut hai hoti. Cheekhti hai aabroo, ghuti hai siskiyaa Kaun yaha sunega, bahraa har insaan hai. Ye kaisi dukaan hai? Yaha bikta khud insaan hai. By- Vinita Surana

Chap 32 Friends reunion part 1

Ghazal and Arun received a warm welcome from Mihir and his family. Though a little self-conscious in the beginning, Arun soon got himself engaged with Mihir's three kids…two pretty girls of 11 and 9, Mihika and Meha respectively and a sweet little baby boy of 3 years, Anshul. He had a way with kids as she had seen him with their own daughter Vrinda. The foursome was busy chatting away with him, their faces coming alive with laughter. Ghazal hugged Mihir's wife Mishti, a wonderful person who had filled the vacuum in Mihir's life, while he was away from his family and friends. Even though they had not known each other much as Mihir had shifted to USA just after his wedding, yet they had gone on to become good friends through letters they had shared earlier and then communicating through video chats. Suddenly a whistle caught hold of everyone's attention at the party. It was Rahul, a well-known face in the world of advertisement, owner of a well-placed ad

Relationships

Are matches made in Heaven? If asked, majority will answer in the affirmative. My next question would be: Then why some stand intact till the last breath and stay strong in the face of the wildest storm….and some cannot withstand even the first strong puff of wind? Perhaps everyone will have a different view on this one. I suppose the most probable answer would be, destiny has a role to play…some are destined to be together, while others are not. Now why this differentiation? Perhaps nobody has the answer to this, at least not a valid one…there may be a lame explanation like " this is God's will…" but why would God make them meet in the first place, if he does not want them to be together? Yes may be that can be a lesson to be more careful next time we choose a partner, but then do we have a choice next time? Or is it God's will again? If we do have a choice then why not the first time around? Baffling!! Isn't it? There are so many couples who bel

Chap 31 Mihir's welcome party

Mihir's welcome party was like an emotional journey into the beautiful memories of the past times. Mihir's father had secretly invited all their close friends, and it was a huge bang-on surprise for both Ghazal and Mihir to watch their friends join the party with a hue and cry to be heard for miles.... The crazy group was reunited after several years, in fact all of them had come together for the first time after the day Mihir had left for USA. Each one had their own story to share and following week was going to be real fun.... a blending of tears and laughter, an emotional journey for all of them with upcoming Holi - the festival of colours.        Mihir's house was illuminated with bright lights giving a feel of the festival of lights, Diwali. Light music floated in the air and guests had started coming in, but Mihir was eagerly waiting for his childhood friend, Ghazal. He had so much to share with her and recollect the lost times. He had spent many sleepless nights wo

Saga of waves

Image
A sense of freedom Uplifts the spirits, When the waves move at speed Towards the shore As if to break all barriers, Their untamed energy Reflects a determination, To move ahead Overcome all hurdles And envelope the waiting shore In the warmth of the wide-spread arms. They shout, they cheer, they dance As if rejoicing in their own happiness. Singing a never-ending saga of eternal union.

Flight to Chennai was a pleasant one....floating on clouds, popping right out of a scenic painting <3 Light blue sky with cottony clouds bending to meet the deeper tint of blue in the sea...merging and mixing like two inseperable lovers <~> A visit to the famous Kapaaleeshwar temple at Mahlapur....huge premises bustling with devotees yet so well disciplined..a unique experience !! Loved the peaceful atmosphere, fragrance of mogra floating in the air, offered coconut n fruits to Lord Shiva, just stood there with closed eyes, feeling totally at peace with myself @-}-- A walk of about half km from Kapaaleeshwar temple took us to Sai Baba temple. Cool evening breeze soothed mind and body, while we took a walk back to the cozy and comfortable hotel room.

Rasm-e-wafa

Image
Safar mei rahta hai mann, Nirantar badhta hi jaata hai. Khoobsurat manzar ho, Chahe ho meel ke pathar, Apni hi dhun mei chalta jaata hai. Wo baalu ke sheesh-mahal, Lehro par palte khwaab, Peeche kahi chhodta jaata hai. Anginat afsaane naye-purane, Thodi haqeekat thode fasaane, Aksar dohraata jaata hai. Bandhta nahi seema mei, Azaad panchhi sa tinka-tinka, Yaadein jodta jaata hai. Rasm-e-wafa to dekho iski,'VINi' Mujhe tanha chhodta nahi, Aur unka hua jaata hai. By- Vinita Surana

Poesy

Freedom to be What comes naturally, With open wings Fly to new horizons, Breaking the barriers Of norms and language. To express the inner-most feelings Rather than being ornamental, To touch the lives around, And reach the depths Of the divine soul Which is Freedom Incarnate. This is what I wish to be For I spring from The deepest corner of the heart And heart is Where I wish to be. By- Vinita Surana

Silent Storm

Image
Grey clouds looming large Seem to hover above Tear-stained faces Dried of feelings, Stoned eyes seem to look nowhere. Air heavy like lead Chokes mind But silent storm still rages inside.... A symbol of love it is, Crimson, colour of sweet rose, Coloured many a lives, Yet inculcates a fear Deep within the hearts, Of brutality and loss of innocent lives. It seems as if it has become a symbol of hatred. Cries of pain and suffering Resound in the hollow mind, Deafening all sounds sweet. My heart looks for an escape route To unwind itself and rejuvenate. By- Vinita Surana
