Chap- 5 Destiny Plays…

Certain things are best left on time, as time as it passes heals many wounds, which may seem incurable. Some relations, though appear to be strained or broken, have some invisible ties. Days passed with things improving in Samar’s family, but there was this thought still nagging in a corner of Ghazal’s mind.
Every now and then, Arun had indirectly tried to reach her, his eyes seemed requesting her to give their relationship another chance. She had no doubt in her mind that he loved his daughter very much. But was that enough reason for them to come together again?
It was as if Destiny was about to take another turn. One morning, Vrinda woke up with high fever. She took her to a physician, who after a number of tests, diagnosed her with severe jaundice. Her little girl was restricted to bed and she to her side. Arun came as soon as he came to know, doing whatever he could. He spent a quality time with Vrinda, only leaving her side at night, when she was asleep. She had become very weak, her fragile form seemed to have shrunk even more.
It so happened one night, as Arun was about to leave, Vrinda caught his hand in her hand and said, “ Papa, don’t go … please stay with me…”
Arun looked at Ghazal, who simply nodded. That night, both of them sat on either side of their daughter, holding her hand. Vrinda woke up at night, looked at both of them with a smile on her lips, and went off to sleep again.
