Change

There's so much more to her
Than you'll ever see,
A naive girl you've known
And loved her may be.
She is no more now,
Only a shadow of that naivety
Surface sometimes
When she is alone.
She is bold and beautiful
As she sees herself in her mirror,
A mirror with a beautiful golden lining
Which adds light to her face,
Every time she watches her reflection in it.
It hides all the lines and blemishes,
Age and time seems to have left on her face.
She floats in her haven with her infant wings,
Rejuvenated and reveling in her newly found freedom.
She's friendly and caring, yet an individual,
Daring yet a master of her own emotions.
A tear or two still lurk behind her gleaming eyes
Which add to her mystery and keep her alive.
