Chap 33 Friends’ Reunion Part 2

"Hey you guys wait, I'm here too." Lo! There she was …. Avani, dressed up in an exclusive designer Anarkali suit with all trimmings intact. Just like college days, she still loved to dress for parties and took care of every immaculate detail. Married to a millionaire's son at 20, her marriage could not survive more than 8 months, but that did not deter her from searching another suitable partner. Finally, after 6 years of singlehood, she was lucky enough to meet Girish, a promising banker who fell for her charms and creative mind. Their first meeting was regarding the bank loan, Avani had applied for setting up her boutique. Two meetings later, Girish asked her for a dinner date which was followed by many more. Sharing a cup of coffee on the eve of the boutique's opening, Girish presented her with a beautiful bracelet with both their initials engraved on it. That was cue enough for Avani who was on cloud nine. They hugged and sealed their lives together with a passionate kiss. A simple registered marriage was followed by a grand reception and a week-long honeymoon at Goa, their favourite destination. Girish, being on a business trip could not make it to Mihir's party, so here was Avani with her 5 year old son Ananth, a charming boy just like his mother.
Last to join the 'gang' were Akshit with his wife Ankita and Abhilasha with her husband Pranay and two lovely daughters Diksha and Divita. Akshit was a well-known fashion designer, settled in London and Ankita managed their retail stores. Abhilasha, a lecturer in the girls' college had married Pranay who was an engineer with a MNC, settled in Delhi. Two happily married couples from arranged marriages. It was truly an unforgettable evening and a party to be cherished in their memories forever. For the first time since his marriage to Ghazal, Arun found himself enjoying the easy companionship of her friends. Stealing a glance towards her, now and then he could sense her joy and pleasure on meeting her old friends after such a long time. All of them chatted and danced till the wee hours of the dawn, welcoming the beginning of a new day which was special for all of them.
