Chap 33 Destiny Favours A little

Ghazal was so deeply engrossed in her memories that she didn’t realize , the day was over and Vrinda was back from her friend’s house. Her darling daughter came and hugged her tight, kissing her lovingly on the cheek. Vrinda had always been an affectionate child. She had grown up to be a sincere and understanding girl, owing to the circumstances in their life. She had an amicable relation with her father too. She missed her father sometimes, especially when she watched her friends with their father. Ghazal had often seen that look of longing in her eyes, the reason she had not taken divorce from Arun. Although its been 8 years of their separation, yet they had remained in touch for their daughter’s sake.
Twice a month, Arun visited them, as was the arrangement between them. He spent the whole day with them, took them for outing, shopping for Vrinda, dinner at some restaurant, and after dropping them home, left for his own house. Vrinda didn’t say anything ,but Ghazal could sense that she always looked forward to those 2 days of the month. Arun and Ghazal had become two strangers, indifferent yet amicable, for their daughter’s sake. Ghazal lived a more or less mechanical life, with a fixed daily routine, her feelings all shuttered behind thick walls, all of her own making. She had very few friends, but she had somehow kept in touch with her childhood friends, They all had shifted to different cities, two of them settled abroad. She made it a point to call each one of them at least once a month. They too called her and thus life did not feel so bad after all. The only person she missed terribly was her best friend Mihir, She missed seeing him face to face, sharing with him all her smallest things. Though he often called her, yet she never opened up before him too much, so as not to distress him. Mihir was,she knew, as sensitive towards her as she was towards him.
It was as though God’s compensation for her, that She had met Samar on net, who had gone on to become her best friend, with whom she could share anything without hesitation. He laughed with her, made her laugh when she was sad, remained cool in every situation and above all made her feel loved. Even though there was an age gap of 9 years between them, they never felt it. They were best buddies sharing their life with each other, without any demands. They have neither met nor seen each others' pics, and they never felt the need to do so. Smile
